The Way of Nutrition

Diet as medicine works on 3 layers simultaneously:


Body : restores physical energy, resistance and digestion.


Mind : calms your thinking, influences mood (e.g. serotonin from food).


- Soul: conscious cooking, gratitude and eating mindfully opens your heart.


  • Drinking an herbal tea in silence can be as healing as a consultation with a doctor – if you do it consciously.

Nutrition in NLiP is:


- Conscious eating, attuned to your elements.


– Using herbs, rituals and seasonal influences.


- Eating with attention, as a form of self-care and love.
- No set rules, but attuned guidance.

How much food suits you?

– The NLiP measure – Measure: your own hand as a guide (Your hand = your measure.) A simple, natural way:


– 3 handfuls of solid food (cooked vegetables, grains, protein)

– 1 handful of space for air (for digestion, movement)

– 1 handful (± 250 ml) of warm water or herbal tea after eating (not during!)

  • Don’t overfill – your stomach is not a pantry, but a cooking pot. It needs room to ‘cook’.

– Food = energy = love = consciousness

– Each flavour nourishes a different aspect of yourself (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual)

– Food is a form of care for yourself and for each other
