Trikatu
Trikatu is a classical Ayurvedic blend of three pungent spices: pippali (long pepper), dried ginger and black pepper. The
Rajaveda kit contains equal parts: 50 g pippali, 50 g dried ginger and 50 g black pepper.
Prepare it yourself
- Grind the three ingredients separately or together into a fine powder.
- Prefer a mortar or suitable spice grinder; avoid prolonged grinding that strongly heats the powder.
- Mix thoroughly and store dry, dark and tightly closed.
Traditional use & safety
In Ayurveda, Trikatu is traditionally described as a warming, pungent spice combination, including use around food and
digestion. This is traditional background information and not proof that the product ‘cleanses’ the blood or body.We do not give one universal daily dose for children, adults and older people. Pepper constituents such as piperine can affect the absorption and metabolism of some medicines.
Take extra care with medication, pregnancy or trying to conceive, children,
gastrointestinal complaints, or other medical conditions; discuss regular use with a doctor or pharmacist.
Honey may be used as a food to mix with a small amount of powder, but never give honey to a child under 1 year.
